Gene Expression Profiling > Process steps

Microarray Center - Gene Expression Profiling

Technical support

Conducting a gene expression profiling experiment with microarray consists of 4 principal steps:

1. Extraction of cellular RNA
2. Labeling your reference and samples of interest.
3. Hybridization, incubation of samples with slide and washing.
4. Scanning of microarray to acquire an image.

There are numerous direct and indirect methods which one can use to label up their samples of interest. The protocols posted here have been tested at the microarray lab and have produced good results.
